WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS

         The FBM KLCI touched a record intraday high of 1,611.5 points on Monday before closing at 1,599.2 points, down 0.2% for the week.

       Regional markets generally moved higher after European leaders announced new initiatives to support troubled banks in the Eurozone.

         Looking ahead, the performance of the local and regional markets will depend on improvement in U.S. economic activities and developments in the Eurozone.

Launch of Public Sukuk Fund and Public Islamic Bond Fund

News from Public Mutual Berhad

Public Sukuk Fund (PSKF), an Islamic bond fund launched on 19 July 2011, seeks to
provide annual income through investments in sukuk and Islamic money market
instruments.
PSKF’s features are similar to Public Islamic Bond Fund (PI BOND). As PI BOND was
closed for sales since June 2010, investors may consider investing in PSKF. PSKF will
be sold at the Initial Issue Price of RM1.0000 per unit and at a service charge per unit of
up to 0.25% of its Initial Issue Price until 8 August 2011.

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS

The FBM KLCI eased to a two-week intraday low of 1,294.9 points on Friday due to profit-taking following recent gains. The index closed at 1,296.6 points for a decline of 1.1% for the week.


Regional markets remained well-supported as investors were encouraged by the Federal Reserves benign view on inflation.

The domestic market is anticipated to continue moving in tandem with overseas markets as investors monitor the outlook for global economic activities and interest rates.
